What our customers say

4.5 on Google
“Wow! What a fantastic company. Highly recommend Coastal Stoves who just installed a new stainless steel chimney liner and went beyond just doing this by also spraying our fire box which now looks like new! Perfect, professional and very clean service who I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone else who requires stove services. Plus their prices are extremely competitive and far less than other quotes obtained. The engineers were friendly and very engaging and the initial visit by Sharon and Andy was wonderful and filled me with confidence as they were recommended to us by a highly reputable local builder. Thank you again, Coastal Stoves for a great service from a very satisfied customer.”
Dave Spanton, Google review, December 2024
“Brilliant ! So pleased that we used this business. Andy and Sharon inspired confidence from their first visit . Very professional with a mess free and excellent service from Andy and his team, nothing was too much trouble . We are both very happy with our wood burner and can only say Thank you all very much.”
Beverley Smethurst, Google review, October 2025
“Yet another five star review for coastal fires. Just about everybody I talk to in sharing Ingham said they were brilliant and they didn’t disappoint at all. They provided and fitted a beautifully stylish wood burner and were in and out within hours and it was up and running immediately. They also fitted this fire surround in our study. Always incredibly professional and genuinely friendly. Hugely recommended.”
John Ryan, Google review, February 2025
“Omg !! Fab guys, you can see by picture result, like the Caribbean in here , fab . The company was from a ( plus looked at reviews) a recommendation, no disappointed at all .the guys and owner were fab from start to finish, work was done 23/1/25 completed 24/1/25. I had issues ( nothing to do with coastal stoves ) unfortunate a flood down stairs , but the guys were fab, still finished on time. If I had a larger place, would use them to install more wood burners . Thanks for all you work .”
Patrick Frappier, Google review, February 2025
“I could not be happier with my new wood burning stove. The two Coastal Stoves engineers (one being the owner) that fitted it could not have been more helpful, polite and positive. Arrived early and cracked on completing it all by mid afternoon. The attention to detail and workmanship was fantastic.”

Cut18-24 months
Why does my stove smoke?
Most of the time it is a cold flue, so the smoke hits cold air and comes back down out of the stove.
Can I burn any wood?
No. It should be less than 20% moisture. Hardwoods will burn hotter, cleaner and for longer times. Soft wood will burn a lot quicker. Fresh cut wood needs to be stored for 18-24 months.
Do I need kindling?
Yes, a good half of a fire box full will get the flue warm. Leave the door ajar as this will help with heating the flue as well.
Do I need a liner?
Yes. You are not covered on house insurance if not and your stove will warm better.
My glass has gone black
Normally that means that your air wash is not open enough. If you do get a stain, normally vinegar and a soft cloth will help, or a damp cloth and dip it into ash.
Do I clean my stove out every day?
On a woodburner, no. You always leave a good inch of ash as this will help with the draw on the stove. On a multi fuel stove, empty the ashcan when it is full.
Can anybody fit a stove?
No. Stoves must be installed by a HETAS approved installer.
